FICMESC: A new strategy for education
Education Subcommittee Members & Education e-Group Members
Are you interested in helping to offer education to the critical care community?
Do you have expertise in podcasts, e-learning or presenting?
Are you new to the area and want to take your first steps?
In 2017, the Faculty launched the e-ICM project in partnership with e-learning for healthcare (the e-learning function of Health Education England). Following on from the success of e-ICM (including over 50,000 session launches in the first 18 months of use), the Board have approved a plan to expand the range of educational resources and opportunities offered by FICM. They are particularly keen to explore the creation of a resource to provide distance learning in the form of blogs, podcasts, lectures of videos, as well as existing e-ICM content … and potentially more.
The Faculty is establishing two new groups to take forward this work programme and to continue the development of e-ICM. An Education Sub-Committee will be responsible for the strategy and initial content creation, including taking ownership of some of the Faculty’s existing events, and identifying any learning needs from the other groups and committees of the Faculty. They will also be a resource to allow the sharing of best practice and provide quality assurance. An Education e-Group will act as a virtual collective of members interested in developing, producing, reviewing and editing content.
An advert for members of both groups is now available here. We hope you will join us on this exciting endeavour. We are really interested in hearing from doctors in training and ACCPs as well as consultants.
