Open letter to Welsh Government and Welsh Health Boards encouraging support for professional leave

13 February 2019

The FICM representative to the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AOMRC) Wales and Workforce Lead, Dr Jack Parry-Jones has co-signed an open letter to Welsh Government and Welsh Health Boards to encourage them to look favourably on requests for professional leave, especially from doctors in training, for them to contribute to projects that benefit the wider NHS.

The letter comes following advice from the General Medical Council, NHS England and chief Medical officers of all four UK Nations. The Faculty regonises the importance of its members and the wider medical workforce having access to professional leave as a necessary investment for the future of the NHS, and are pleased to co-sign this letter.
