Women in Intensive Care Medicine Emerging Leadership Programme
The Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine are delighted to announce a brand new initiative, the Women in Intensive Care Medicine Emerging Leadership (WICMEL) Programme. The WICMEL programme is designed to develop the leadership skills of female consultant and staff/associate specialist grade doctors through mentoring from senior members of the Faculty and a subsidised Open University course. Successful applicants will engage with the Faculty's Board, committees and activities and will be supported in honing their leadership skills with the aim of becoming involved in leadership positions within FICM, or their own organisations.
When the Women in Intensive Care Medicine Subcommittee was formed in 2016, it was clear that one of the Faculty's and Subcommittee's long-term goals must be to approach a point where leadership composition at the Faculty represents membership composition. By actively addressing this imbalance, we aim to work towards better diversity across Critical Care.
The deadline for applications for the WICMEL Programme is Midnight on 15 June 2019.
