Leeds General Infirmary is a designation major trauma/neuro/cardiac and vascular centre and the St James’ University Hospital site provides tertiary level care for liver transplant, renal and respiratory medicine. All other major medical and surgical specialties are spread between the two sites.
There are currently 4 ACCPs in training, 2 at each site. There is also 1 qualified ACCP who provides Monday – Friday cover on a surgical high dependency unit.
The University of Leeds provides an MSc level course in Advanced Practice and all its associated modules. Most extra-curricular non-university based study is accessed through the various anaesthetic and critical care units in the region.
