What differential diagnoses should you consider?

  • Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) 

    • PRES and RCVS may coexist [5]    
  •  Demyelination  

  •  Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML)           

  •  Autoimmune or paraneoplastic encephalitis 

  •  Viral encephalitis 

  •  Toxic leukoencephalopathy  

  •  Acute hepatic encephalopathy 

  •  Osmotic demyelination syndrome          

  •  Cerebral venous thrombosis [1]
