Women in Intensive Care Medicine Emerging (WICMEL) Leadership Fellowship Programme Recruitment 2023

Published 12/07/2023

Applications are invited for the third cohort of Women in Intensive Care Medicine Emerging Leadership Fellowship (WICMEL) 2023.

The WICMEL programme was launched in May 2019 as one of the first initiatives of WICM subcommittee encouraging new female consultants and SAS doctors to develop their leadership skills. The biennial programme appoints four fellows to a programme that runs from October to July. The programme gives the Fellows the opportunity to meet with existing leaders in the specialty, receive mentoring from Board members whilst learning about the theoretical and practical aspects of leadership through the educational content of the programme.

For further details, please see the application pack factsheet. It is recommended that potential WICMEL applicants discuss their interest in applying for the fellowship with their clinical lead to ensure they have the support of their department to dedicate the appropriate time to the fellowship.

Women in Intensive Care Medicine Emerging Leadership (WICMEL) Fellowship Programme is open to:

  • Consultant or SAS grade doctors within 3-5 years of appointment to post.
  • Fellows / Associate Fellows of FICM.
  • Those with limited leadership experience.

Please submit applications along with a short CV and Clinical Lead confirmation to wicm@ficm.ac.uk by 9am on 11 September 2023.
