Case of the Month #27 - rhabdomyolysis

Overview

A 75 year old man presented to the Emergency Department with a 1 week history of progressive proximal leg weakness, a subsequent fall and resultant long lie on his living room floor. On arrival he was noted to be short of breath and had SpO2. He was previously fit and well other than hypercholesterolaemia treated with simvastatin. Social history included alcohol intake of 30 units per week.
