What are the clinical features of Mitral Stenosis?

  1. Dyspnoea due to pulmonary congestion caused by increased left atrial pressure
  2. Palpitations due to atrial fibrillation
  3. Systemic thromboembolism seen in about 10-20% patients
  4. Chest Pain due to Right Ventricular Hypertrophy (rather than coronary artery disease)
  5. ECG demonstrating atrial fibrillation and Left Atrial enlargement
  6. Chest X-Ray shows Left Atrial enlargement and pulmonary vascular congestion
