Published 12/05/2022

Overview

It’s February and a concerned mother brings in her 4-month-old boy, Jacob, to the paediatric emergency department. After two days of fever and runny nose, his mother, Janice, takes him to the General Practitioner. Today, Janice is concerned by his chesty cough and audible wheeze.  Her pregnancy, labour and delivery were uncomplicated. She smoked throughout the pregnancy and continues to do so. The family history is negative for asthma or allergy.
