May show microbubbles entering the heart or collections of air may be seen in the cardiac chambers, Lack of such findings does not exclude air embolism though.
Imaging: CT/ MRI of the brain with contrast may indicate gas bubbles or ischaemic injury and help differentiate between arterial and venous involvement.
