Accredited for 2 CPD Points
This popular webinar brought together over 120 delegates for a focused and practical session on preparing for the transition from training to a first consultant post in Intensive Care Medicine. With insights from members of the FICM Board and early‑career ICM consultants, the session explored the realities of starting out in a consultant role and how to approach the process with confidence.
Across the evening, speakers covered key areas including:
- How to tailor your CV for consultant interviews within ICM
- Job planning essentials and what to expect from your first formal job plan
- Common challenges in the first consultant year and strategies for navigating them
- Understanding the ICM consultant jobs market and how best to position yourself
Delegates also had the opportunity to learn from the speakers’ personal experiences of the transition from trainee to consultant, gaining practical advice to support their Leadership and Management competencies.
We extend our thanks to Dr Liz Thomas, Dr Dan Macadie and Dr Matt Williams for delivering an informative and highly valued session. Certificates were provided to all attendees for inclusion in their portfolios.
